Feeding the Multitude!

Sorry, I'm a bit behind in blogging.  On Christmas Eve our church hosts a big meal.  We talked about not holding it on Christmas Eve, as many families like to do their own special family time.  But, many of these families don't have the means to have a special meal for their families and this IS their special family time.  We decided that 250 people in our regular church space was not the safest thing.  We meet on the top floor of an apartment building.  I'm not sure the building code would allow 250 people up there....if there were a code!  So, we decided to hold the meal in the Nate Saint house (I'm not sure that floor is ok to hold 250 people either!).  Before we ate we had a time of praise and worship and some skits by the kids and youth.  We cooked 3 turkeys, 3 or 4 chickens, rice, potatoes, salad and cake.  We said a prayer over the food before we started serving and somehow we had just enough!  God is so good!   After supper they passed out small gifts to all of the kids (thanks to Samaratain's Purse shoebox ministry!).  What a fun and truly blessed time!  We love our church and the hearts of the leaders!

Magi stirring the enormous pot of rice!  It covered all 4 burners on the stove!

The international kitchen crew l-r: Blanca (the one in charge of everything and won't pose for a picture!) is from Columbia, Tracey is from the US, Birgit is from Germany, Me, and Magi is Ecuadorian.

  1. Wow! Feeding that many and having enough food, what a gift.
