Tomorrow morning we are traveling to Quito again to try to complete one of the two final pieces to our residency visa. Please pray for safety, patience and success in getting our paperwork done.
Also, last week we received some news of a possible set-back. The law says that if you have your residency you cannot leave the country for more than 90 days for the first 2 years. Most of you know that we are leaving for furlough in July and will be in the US for 6 months. We had heard that there was a way to get an exemption from this, but now we are being told differently. The lawyer that we have consulted is now saying that we might not be able to get around this rule and may have to start the whole residency process again once we return from furlough! That would be a nightmare! Please pray with us that we can resolve this in our favor before we leave.
